Once assembled, this Brownout Protector kit from Tronixlabs Australia is designed to protect single-phase 230V induction motors in fridges, freezers, pumps etc from burnout if they attempt to start during a brownout. It will switch off the power if the voltage falls below a set threshold.
Features include an adjustable threshold voltage, switch-on delay (around five seconds) and indication of both normal and brownout conditions. Maximum Power 2300W. Drilling of the box is required.
Brownout threshold voltage is typically set to 200V, and the unit has a low standby power consumption of <5W with the relay on.
