Easily add an ESP8266 to your Arduino with the SparkFun WiFi Shield for Arduino

Now available from Tronixlabs Australia is the Sparkfun WiFi shield for Arduino based on the ESP8266 wireless microcontroller. You can either use the ESP8266 with your Arduino using AT serial commands, or use this as an ESP8266 breakout board as all the relevant I/O pins are broken out:

This is a rapid way to add a serial-controlled WiFi gateway to  your existing Arduino projects, and SparkFun have provided an excellent Getting Started guide so your board will be on the Internet in no time at all.
