Tronixlabs Q&A - "Is it really in stock?"

Posted by

The vast majority of the email we receive from new and existing customers concerns the amount of stock we have of a particular item - that is "Do you really have this in stock?" and so on.

So much so that after categorising the last five hundred emails received, around 75 percent asked us about stock levels:

So - in order to answer the stock level question once and for all - the answer is easy.

Visit the product page you are concerned about. Then check the "Current Stock" amount... in the following example it's 22:

This means we have 22 physical batteries here in Melbourne, ready to send to you. If all the items in your order are in stock, we will send it the same day if you ordered before 3pm Melbourne time Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

If you need more than we have in stock - email support@tronixlabs.com with your exact requirements. Furthermore we can sometimes offer a bulk discount, it never hurts to ask.

If an item is NOT in stock - we need to order it in from the supplier either locally in Australia or abroad.

When something is not in stock, we indicate the ESTIMATED amount of time between you placing an order and us sending your order if all the other items in your order are in stock. All time estimates are business hours/days and are purely estimates.

This is shown by "Ships in 72 hours/Ships in 7 days/Ships in 10 days" etc instead of the current stock level. If your order consists of 99 items in stock and one is "Ships in 10 days" - we wait until the out of stock item arrives from the supplier then we send the entire order as one shipment.

If you missed the "Ships in " message on the product page, it is also shown in the Shopping Cart under the item description - for example:

... and the same notice is shown a third time in the order confirmation page.

If you cannot wait for a particular item - order it separately from out-of-stock items.

I know some of you will say "Why don't you just stock everything you have listed?" Great question, and the answer is that it simply costs too much. We keep stock of the most popular items and order the rest on demand. We can always special-order something for you, and we do this for many people.

Finally, I just want to clarify that "in stock" means "in stock" one more time. We had a good laugh last week when we discovered one of our competitors are using lines such as ...

"In stock, with a short lead time. 43 units dispatch in 4 to 7 days (in addition to the shipping method you choose). Our timing and stock is accurate. Delivery to you by Tue, 5th of Sep with Express Post within Australia."

...to describe their stock levels. Either it takes them 4 to 7 days to pack and send an order or we can allege they don't have the stock in Australia and that they need to order the stock in - which takes around 4 to 7 days. We hope that they can change their wording to more align with reality, or learn to pack boxes a lot faster.

So there you have it. If you have any ideas for a future Q&A, or any other questions or feedback please email support@tronixlabs.com.

And as always - we'll ship your entire order anywhere in Australia for $5. Don't forget to keep up with news, specials and more from Tronixlabs, please follow us on facebook, Google+ or twitter.
