UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) systems provide backup power during a mains power blackout allowing devices to be shutdown safely. In addition, our PowerShield range include protection against surges, sags, brownouts, spikes, radio and electrical interferences. UPS systems are now being widely employed in computers, telephone systems, medical equipment, home theatre installs and security installations. All backup times listed will vary with battery capacity and connected load.
Tronixlabs carries two types of PowerShield UPS:
Line Interactive UPS: Regulates the power as it falls and surges. They offer protection against surges, sags, brownouts, spikes, radio and electrical interferences. If the spike or sag is severe (over 24V above or below nominal 240V output), the UPS will transfer the load to the batteries. The reason why it is called a Line Interactive UPS is because it only interacts when there are fluctuations in the power line.
True Online Double Conversion UPS: With this UPS, the mains are converted to dc and back to ac to feed the connected equipment with a perfect 240V 50Hz supply. The double conversion eliminates all noise and interference when delivering perfect power to the equipment while being Voltage and Frequency independent. This means that unlike the other UPS, the Online UPS will give perfect power even if there is damage to the primary stage because the batteries convert to ac for continuous power.
Kindly note due to the weight of some UPS devices we only ship them within Australia. NZ customers - contact us for a local supplier.
